Successful Career Strategies

After earning a degree in American Studies from Barnard College, Sarah began her career in public relations with international communications firm Ruder Finn. There, she coordinated campaign outreach efforts and developed product placement strategies, in addition to securing several local and national media interviews. Before entering graduate school, she gained experience developing business strategies and conducting market research efforts through international opportunities in Asia and South America.

Sarah earned her M.B.A. from the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University and her J.D. from Southwestern Law School. Following graduation, she joined Ruttenberg IP Law in Los Angeles, where she secured copyright and trademark protections and litigated disputes involving information technology, transportation, and consumer products.

Since joining Successful Career Strategies, Sarah has coached lawyers through a range of career transitions. She worked with an attorney during a relocation who sought to leave the law for a role in non-profit management and assisted another in entering the arts world. She has helped lawyers to shift from law firms to in-house counsel positions and from regional firms to the Am Law 200. Sarah brings her legal and corporate backgrounds to the table in coaching attorneys in everything from lateral moves and changes of practice area to major transitions outside of the legal services industry.
